Difficult starting

Just started ok first thing this morning and no I've had no issues previously. Its a 3.0D 2010

Trying to start several times today it eventually starts but is feels and sounds 'lumpy'. Appears like its firing on half the cylinder, but his clears after a minute or so and all appears well.

Just tried to start it again and it turned over with no problem but failed to start. Switched off, tried again and it started ok but sounded slightly rough, eventually cleared and it ran ok.

Any ideas would be helpful?
 
Hi Peter, may be worth getting it plugged in to check for any fault codes. Possible causes may be an injector or glow plug issue, both of which would throw up a code.

I’d follow Greg’s advice Peter, but you could try using a diesel fuel additive to help clean the system before going to any further expense. If you’re using supermarket fuel, it could be worth filling up with some branded fuel to see if that helps.

Another possible cause of your problem is a faulty high pressure fuel pump.
