Hi,
Wondering if anyone out there can enlighten me - the little display directly below the digital MPH on the dash always used to tell me the outside temp however it has recently changed to MPG and today its gone to average MPH. I dont have anything to change this display with (extra stork on column) so can anyone tell me why its changed - have i pressed something ? would like to change it back to temperture but havent the foggiest !
Any thoughts would be great as i just cant figure it out

you've pulled the lower left hand stalk towards you - that lever changes the bottom display between things like average mpg, average mph, miles to go, outside temp (atleast that's what it does on my car).

[FONT=arial"]Hi Danofesher- i only have one left stork which flashes high beam and one right stork which does wipers - fiddled with both forward and backward and i doesnt change the display !

Someone has enabled the On-Board Computer at some time, with a Porsche tester. Most people get it done to display the outside air temperature, but it sounds like yours has decided to scroll through the menus by itself!

.. so presumably there's a wire somewhere that can be earthed or taken to 12v to toggle through the options, Richard.

maybe this could be wired up to a spare switch on the dash, to save the fitting of an extra stalk?

That's what I did on my C2 before I fitted cruise and a 4 lever stalk. I used a footwell lighting switch:

No. The tester will only activate/deactivate the OBC display. You will have to trigger it by installing a switch. Alternatively, it might be worth seeing if it resets to outside temperature when you disconnect the battery. If you try this, first check you have the radio code. Then switch on the ignition and turn off all the circuits you can (aircon, interior lights, radio, ect). Leave the ignition switched on while you disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. This will prevent the alarm siren from sounding.

Normally, once activated, the display sticks with outside air temperature, so I have no idea why it is scrolling through the menus.

Thanks Richard,
Will give it a go ! I liked the temperature display - average mph is pretty useless really !!!!

Fuel range on remaining fuel is handy to have though. If you fancy retrofitting the switch (costs about £35 in parts) to make it functional, drop me an email and I'll send you the wiring details.

Hi Richard,

Mine only has the temp display but I am interested in do the mod. Please could you pm me the details?

thanks
