Hi there all, can anyone recommend a diagagnostic reader and coder for my Boxster s 3.2. I have had an engine light come on and have cleared it with a reboot. My mate pluged his reader in but could not connect ( proffessional tech, but not Porsche) I would like to purchase such an item, any ideas greatly appriciated.[;)]

Take a look at durametric.com - it works really well on 993 and I guess it will be as good or better on your more modern car. I bought direct from US but that was a few years ago and I think I heard there's now a UK distributor.

The price is better direct from the US. The 'Enthusiasts' version should do for what you need unless your planning on setting up a garage.

I don't think it is that good to be honest. It doesn't seem to do an awful lot other than read some fault codes, view history which may be ok for the enthusiast but it doesn't really do any serious stuff like adaptions, module re setting/programming etc

Thank's guys. I will check it out, just done 120 miles and the mil light is on again!! I don,t think it is anything to worry about, I just need to sort it before a fatal error code.!![&:]
