Anyone given thought to next years show ? I know it's a while off yet but it soon comes around.

We currently have five 944's definately going, possibly a 996T and a 997 coming along as well, ferry and hotels booked.

In 2014 we are doing Dinslaken show then travelling down through the German National Park into Luxembourg, then on across France and home via the tunnel, 7 days in total.

All the best, Paul

Yes,

Currently planning a low-budget, three day thing again. I think last years cost each of us sub £500 per car, all in, including fuel (the biggest expense) That was ferry over, evening at the Nurburgring, day at Dinslaken, next morning on the Schwebebahn in Wuppertal, and race back for the ferry.

This year I was planning on waiting to see when playtime at the Nurburgring was on again before planning it in any detail, but had a chance to have a quick look around that area the weekend and whilst a drive down the Rhine and Draconsfel is top of the list, there is now an alternative in the form of I think it is called "Auto Remise" in Dusseldorf - fantastic place...

Hmmm... thinking it is about time to resurrect this thread... subject to getting my passport renewed in time... whilst it will have to be low-budget, not quite sure what my plans are yet, as I have discovered so many other things over there I would like to see!

Care to furnish us with some more information about what the 'Dinslaken' is? As well as some dates and ideas of where you chaps will be staying?

Oli.

Dinslaken hosts a huge Porsche festival on the 1st May, too many cars to get around along with the tractors, last year saw cars from Russia and the UK of course, we will be stopping about 15 minutes away at Oberhausen which is a lovely place.
As Mr Ruddy has posted we will be taking off through the German national parks for Luxembourg then off to France taking in Reims then off to the ferry back to Blighty.

Alas - 1st May means it's a no-no. Shame, it sounds like a fantastic bash (and I dimly remember the details from a thread from last year.)

Thanks for the explanation tho'.

Oli.

Gentlefolk, do you mind if I (and any others from Dorset I can persuade) join you in Oberhausen if there are any rooms spare? Do you mind advising where you are staying? I seem to recall last year I thought we had a really good deal... until I heard of yours!

Been just told about this meet by a German friend who has three 944/968 but wants to go there with his daily BMW [8|], because we have a boot load of parts to fetch on the way back to his place... Wish I had paid attention to this event earlier, would have gladly come with the 944 instead... Oh well. Will come and say hello for sure.

Unfortunately I'm not going to make it this year:-( Holiday was booked, but work and having spent my money on the very car I was hoping to take over there! Next year...
