Dirty Headlamp

Hi All,

Does anyone know if it is possible to clean the inside of the plastic lens on my Bi-Xenon headlamps? I have a smoky looking residue on the inside at the bottom of the lens, which is only aesthetic, but is bugging me immensly [:mad:]

I know we sometimes suffer from condensation but I've not seen a dirty unit before..
I've always assumed they are sealed/bonded at the front..

May be possible this way:
Remove headlight unit.
Remove protective cap as when changing dip beam.
Remove lower halogen bulb, do not touch bulb glass with fingers.
This should, I assume, leave an aperture big enough to pass some stiff wire, like coat hanger material with a cotton bud attached through into the front of the unit to clean bottom area of glass.
