Disabling airbags

Has anyone disabled the passenger airbag? I know you can get a kit from your local OPC that cost a small fortune but I'm guessing there must be a way of permanently disabling the passenger airbags without that costly option ????

You know how it is, small kid, child seat. Trying to get this is the rear seat is a pain..

Hmm.

An airbag is actually a small explosive charge behind a canvas bag. In terms of power, it's on a par with a blank shotgun cartridge. I'd (personally) prefer to keep well clear and leave it to the OPC.

And what if you think you've disabled it but haven't? Where does the OPC bill lie on a scale of 1 to [value of your child's life]?
