Disarming Auto Central Locking - Tech Question

Showtime

New member
Really annoying [] me now, central locking activates as soon as you drive off (Factory set according to the manual),

Anyone know if it's possible to 'disarm' this 'valuable feature... honestly, if I want the doors to lock when I'm in it, I can press a button, dont need the car to decide for me...

any help appreciated

Agreed, I like it but I do have one feature that bugs me and that is that the remote range is too great, I often find one of my luggage boots unlocked or the windows open. But I think it's a common problem and doubt if anything can be done, unless someone knows otherwise.

You are not alone in suffering these problems, all can be cured [:)]

All relate to the key programming:

Boot unlock - time required to press the button to open the boot can be increased by the dealer.

Windows - Can be de-programmed so that they do not drop when you hold the key open longer than just to unlock the car.

As it happens Porsche changed the key design to negate the need for all this re-programming but you can guess swapping the keys isn't free. If you have one with ridges on the buttons it is the old design, if the buttons are semi-recessed you have the modified one.
