Disc replacement

I could not find this in the technical section, so - what do people think of Pagid discs and pads vs Porsche original. I understand they are both made by the same company TMD Friction. My C2S discs are beautiful on the outside but getting grooved and corroded on the inside - a job that will need doing sometime.

Use original equipment so as to be certain of maintaining your extended warranty, otherwise Pagid products are used by several Register members here with great success and an understanding with their PC regarding the warranty.

Regards,

Clive.

I use OEM discs and Pagid RS 14 (Black) ceramic based pads - which are excellent compared to the OEM pads. No problem with extended warranty which, given that the brake parts are wear and tear and not covered by warranty anyway, is how it should be![;)]

Depends . If your talking Padgid Discs from Euro car parts then I would say no. I've had two sets on my S2 now and both have warped within a few weeks of fitting.

Thanks guys - good advice - I will get our well regarded specialist in Tewkesbury to fit these to my 997 when I have paid for Christmas!

I can't find it for the life of me, but I am pretty sure that Pagid discs are NOT the original equipment make.

I also seem to recall Textar might be the OE pad maker?

I've just brought Sebro discs and Textar pads for my 996 4S, combo was recommended by Richard H

Yep - Sebro discs and Textar pads are standard. Have bought discs for both road and race Boxster now from EuroCarParts for four years with no problems - although they did accidentally send me a GT3 one year which they swapped.

Pagid pads are OE on turbo.

Clive.

Any idea what material Clive? Don't suppose the OE ones are RS-29 (Yellow) then...?

Are the correct Pagid fronts for the turbo 2707?
