Disklok with paddles??

A neighbour recently had his Audi R8 stolen from his drive which worried me somewhat as, living out in the sticks, the crime rate here is virtually zero - must be to order methinks. So, just in case anyone has a Boxster S on order, I'm thinking about putting a Disklok on it at night. It's parked under the carport behind the garage.
BUT... I notice on their website that Disklok say that cars with paddles behind the steering wheel may not be suitable for fitting the device.
Does anyone use a Disklok on their PDK car??
Thanks,
Phil.

Not sure which Boxster you have, Phil, but the small Disklok certainly fits a 981 Sport Design steering wheel with paddles. You just have to be a little careful how you put it on, as it's very heavy. I never put the Disklok on my 718 Cayman GTS, so can't say if it works with the smaller wheel and slightly different paddles on that car.

Sorry TJB, I was curious about how they did it too but I don't actually know the guy - I just picked up the police report off their incident email circular for the region - rare to see anything relating to our area so it caught my attention. Dogs attacking sheep tends to be the most common report unfortunately.
Fasterthanlight - thanks for that, I have a 987S Gen2 with a Sports s/wheel and I'd guess they all have the paddles at the same distance from the rim, which is the critical thing.
So it looks like the small version should be ok.
Thanks guys,
Phil.

The most likely means of theft is to exploit a weakness with keyless entry using a relay to amplify the signal on the key from within the house to make the car think the key is in the vicinity. This enables the thieves to open the car and start it. They may be able to code a new key from the OBD port. If you have keyless entry you should keep the keys in a faraday cage when indoors. If you don't have keyless entry you are much less at risk as long as you keep the keys safe.
This is an issue that is widely discussed on Range Rover forums as there have been a lot of thefts by this means.
