Display cars for the 2009 Autosport show

As you may have already seen on Melv's post on the 964RS Register forum, Barry Smith is after a number of cars for display at the 2009 Autosport Racing Car Show at the NEC during the period January 8-11. Porsche are featuring strongly at the Show and the display will represent the history of the 911 from it's inception to the present day. In all there will be something like 25 cars on display and to repressnt the 964 for the years 1989-1994 Barry needs a Carrera 2 and a Carrera 4. The cars need to be as standard as possible (counts me out then!!) and obviously in good condition. The cars will be on display throughout the 4 days of the show and will be left in place overnight so it will not be possible to use you pride and joy for the journey to and from the venue during the Show. You will, however, by way of recompense, receive full Show passes for the entire 4 days for 2 people. Any overnight accommodation and travel expenses will, however, be your own responsibility.

Anyone wishing to display their car for this event is invited to e-mail me (at 964@porschecliubgb.com) in the first instance. Although the Show is in January it is necesary to get this organised as soon as possible so I'd urge you to respond as soon as possible.

Regards

Dave

I do realise that this may seem to be an early call for these cars - but I'm not being exactly "overwhelmed" thus far with volunteers. We only need 1 C2 and 1 C4. A 964 Turbo is also required although not my direct responsibility. If you would like your car on display please post here or e-mail me at 964@porscheclubgb.com.

Regards

Dave

Just to add a little information to this call for display cars, I am assured by Barry Smith that the display area will be roped off from visitors so there is no likelihood of little Johnny sticking his nose on your glass or scraping his fingers across your paintwork.

The display should be quite impressive with the full history of the 911 from inception to the present day. There MUST be a couple of decent cars availabe. Volunteers please!!

Regards

Dave
