One of the side lights of my 997.2TT has stopped working and after a lot of research onljne and with the help of this forum. I took the opportunity to have both changed to white LED lights. Here are the steps:

1) find the screw underneath the light cluster. It's hidden underneath, it's easy to find if you shine a light onto it.

2) uncrew and take off the light cluster, you need to slide the cluster to the side before lifting it towards yourself.

3) the cable is really short, it just about have enough length for your fingers to go in.

4) twist it anti clockwise, it should turn about a quarter of a circle and comes off.

5) pull the light out of the casing and pull the bulb out.

6) replace the bulb and put everything back on in reverse sequence.

On my 997.2TT the light came off was a basic w5w T10 bulb without canbus.

I replaced it with a w5w T10 canbus led light bought from amazon.

This is the comparison between the white led and oem light

Kevin,

Thank you for your write-up which I'm sure will help fellow members.

A couple of suggestions if I may. It would be better if your were to tack your method description onto the existing thread in the Technical section. In this way it can be preserved and found by members in future rather than disappearing into the ether along with all the other posts in the general section.

With photographs, they really need to be hosted on an appropriate website and linked to your post. Yours have not appeared - at least on my system using W10 and MS Edge. With the demise of Photobucket, many of us now use Imgur, but there is also Frickr and many other similar sites.

If you need help with this, please contact me on lancerlot@hotmail.co.uk and I'll be happy to help.

Regards,

Clive
