DME & KLR pin numbers

I think I know the answer to this but I'm looking for some reassurance first [:)]

I want to connect my Wideband Commander to the DME so I can plot the RPM of the engine. The Wideband Commander manual says to connect to the coil, but after discussion at Reading on Sunday I think I can connect it to one of the pins at the DME. The following picture from the workshop manual shows pin 1 to be an ignition impulse and pin 8 to be an RPM sensor. Which do you think is best?

Whilst I was browsing the Workshop Manual I came across the pins for the KLR which shows that pin 5 is for the 'vacuum pipe pressure signal'. I wonder if this powers the in dash boost gauge and if I can use this to plot boost on one of the spare channels of the Wideband Commander?

Hi Paul,

KLR output line is no good as it will only go to about 1 bar above atmospheric or 2 bar absolute, you really want a 2.5 to 3.0 bar absolute map sensor... I would recommend a 3 wire cosworth one, I think made by magneti-marelli or some such non porsche like company lol

I will dig you out the part number.

For the ignition impulse, at some point tomorow I will let you know the pin that needs hooking up... you never know, I might even wire it in for you.)
