Seen 993 DME relays advertised on eBay recently,

but if you've got a PCGB discount? then maybe main dealer??

Does anyone know how far you can rely on the claimed 'OE' parts supplied by Euro Carprts, German& Sweedish etc, etc.?

You have to take it on a case by case basis with ECP and GSF. I can confirm that a lot of VW parts are genuine; oil filters, clutch cables heater parts etc. The only parts that I have bought for my 993 are Bosch distributor caps and rotor arms. these were identical to the ones that came of my car and considerably cheaper than going to an OPC.

The only way to be sure is take the old part with you and check at the counter before parting with your money. The genuine parst will have identical part numbers in the same place and details like moulding parting lines etc.

Part no. 993.615.227.00 is £17.63 inc VAT from Bert Gear at Berlyn Services

Yeah - but have you seen his standard postage charge! If you are buying a number of parts, it may be worth while but if you just want a relay, I would try elsewhere.

Ordered mine, Wednesday afternoon,
Arrived Friday morning.

for the princely sum of £20.52 from those nice people in Reading ( with PCGB club discount )
including VAT,
including postage
including a nice A4, colour OPC receipt for your service history[:D].....

makes £20 + P & P from e bay look decidedly un-bargain tastic[:'(].

ps yes, Ref. Berlyn services -
I've felt his postage seems to defeat the point of offering cheap item prices, as per above - unless you are buying a lot of stuff.

My car has a spare DME relay, but what would happen if it "went" ?

And where would I find the faulty one in order to replace it ?

Thanks,

Chris.
