So the Vauxhall one is 50% or more dearer than ther Porsche part? Might be worth going to the Vauxhall forums and adding it to the "alternate parts" thread over there? [&:]

I'd suspect HT leads or dizzy for a damp misfire, DME unlikely as a culprit in my opinion, but having a spare is one of the most important things you can do anyway!

Agreed Peter, it had new Dizzy cap/rotor arm and Sparkers when it was serviced in the summer.
I will put the new relay in and keep the old as a spare, I should have bought one before now!

£15.00 is a good price. I've not done any specific research but the double relay used as a DME in the Porsche is just 2x relays in the same can.
Any double relay that has the same configuration of spade connectors and internal connections should work just fine. I'm pretty sure that many fuel injected cars of that era could have compatable relays like Mercs VW Opel BMW Volvo and of course Audi.

It might be worth a ferret around a salvage yard to see what other parts might be compatible

Heres a 3x way bypass I made up out of an old Ford Mondeo indicator relay . I removed the relay parts and hard wired the spade connectors that match DME terminals 30, 87 & 87b .Then glued the plastic relay can back on with P-38
Better than a spare DME and a useful diagnostic tool too.
