Do i sell my 993 for this???

My friends brother has unfortunately passed away after a short battle with the big C.

He was a pilot and a very particular and neat man and his cars reflect this, and his brother has offered me the following:

1990 944 turbo (250 BHP bridge spoiler model) in guards red.

I have only seen pictures at present but it looks near concours condition and i know no expense has been spared with regards to servicing.

it has done 86K and has Cup 1 alloys and as far as i am aware black leather interior.

The Reg is H390 FCU

Does anybody know this car? (Paul can you have a look at the register please)

Anyway i have been offered first stab at the car and it was purchased for £8K two years ago but since then it has had at least 3K spent on it.

I have been offered it for 6K

i suppose the question is should i buy a £3K car and do it up slowly and keep the 993 or sell the 993 and put money in the bank to fund the turbo and drive it straight to a concours event - oh and to the workshop every day (5 miles round trip).

Any comments on the car or my predicament would be welcome.

i shall be viewing the car next week

cheers Elliot

If it's an "either or" then it's no contest, the 993 wins every time but if you have the space and money to run both .......

944 , is that the thing with the vw LT van engine in it? oh no that was the 924, a world of difference then?[;)]

993, is that the thing derived from a Beetle that throws you off the road at the first corner? Oh no, that was the awful stereotyping we don't do. [8|]

Very fine car the beetle, more than can be said of the LT van[:D]

Don't be ridiculous, you two - all Porsches are what they are and great cars all round. There's too much of this division in the club without these silly comments (in my opinion)[;)]
Really, I'm serious about this - just enjoy! P.S. sell the wife rather than the 993 (I know that's sexist, but, you never know, she might not mind).[:D]

Believe me i have tried selling the wife but could not get much for her.

cheers for opinions

Hoping and struggling to keep both

Sell absolutely everything else you can and keep both.

Two fantastic to drive cars with very different handling characteristics, but I bet you would end up wanting to use the 944T as the daily driver!
