Do Porsche do customer service?

I am infuriated!
I took delivery of my shiny black Boxster 18 months ago. However it was downhill form there.
The first four or five months were plagued with electrical problems. A friend in the trade told me to get rid as it was going to be a problematic car. Porsche not being interested attempted to solve the problems, an did after many attempts by two dealers.
Reasonable happy for another 6 months I got the first service and a blue tooth hands free kit fitted. Needless to say the blue tooth kit did not work properly and made its use unfeasible. By this time the trim had totally worn off the gear lever and I was having trouble getting the heating system to heat my feet. The main dealer must have known it was me calling beacuse once the switchboard had answered the phone I was left holding for more than 15 minutes at a time. This resulted in my not actually speaking to anyone at the dealer for more than 6 weeks.
So I emailed them and instantly got two phone calls and an email in return. Ah, thought I, progress! I could not take the calls but phonesd the email sender who was a aftersales manager (I think). We agreed a date when I would bring the car in to be looked at. The date duly arrived and Iturned up at the dealer and asked for the chap who sent the email by name. He arrived and denied all knowledge of any emails or telephone calls and it was apparent that my car had not been booked in. Nontheless they looked at the car.
They could not fix the hands free kit as an external company had installed it but would bring the car back to sort it. They agreed to replace the gear lever (not one in stock) adn said that the heater was not powerful to heat my feet as well as putting hot air through the vents and I had to half turn of the vents to get any heat to my feet (Nissan Micras can do this I think without balancing the controls). They agreed to get my car back to replace the gear lever and fix the phone kit in about four weeks hence.
The date arrived. The car was taken away in the morining and in the afternoon I was telephoned to say tht they could not fix the hands free kit as they did not have my phone (had not asked for it) butr had moved the microphone 'along a bit'. They had got the wrong gear lever in and thus hd not replaced it. Never mind, the correct geat lever would be in the following day and I would be telephoned to arrange replacement. I emailed the aftersales (?) manager to express my extreme dissatisfaction.
That was several weeks ago and not a peep has been heard about the hands free kit or the gear lever.
I thought I was buying a reliable well built car with impecable service - Ha.
Never mind it will be winter in a few months and I will have my frozen feet to take my mind off it!!!

Your best bet is to bypass the dealership and write a letter of complain to head office in Reading.
Write the letter for the attention of the "Customer Assistance Centre".
Send it recorded delivery. They will then know you mean business.

As for the bluetooth device (is it a Parrot?), if they fix or install that for you then they are doing it
on a gratis basis since it's not their bag. So you should have no complaint with them about it unless you
payed them to install it.

As for the heater problems and their excuse that it's not powerful enough, well that's a design flaw and I
would through that back at them until they fix it. But that excuse is a load of BS.

Best of luck with it.

Thanks. As for the bluetooth device, I bought it from them and paid them for it and thus it surely is their responsibility. I have discussed the 'desgn flaw' with them at length and they just shrug.

It's just infuriating that they just don't seem to care.

The dealership the Posche centre west London which I believe is owned by Porsche GB themselves

The heater excuse is a load of old rhubarb and I would suggest that the dealer is royally taking the mick out of your intelligence if he expects you to believe that Porsche would develop a car with a heater that hasn't got the capability of heating the legs of the occupants of a 2 seater cabin.

As for your dealer experience, you are just unlucky. Some on here have had appalling service, others the opposite. I have heard some nasty stories of West London (is that AFN Chiswick of old?). Hope the course of action direct to Porsche works for you.

so it is still a good idea to get my Tracker installed by then

I had my Tracker fitted by my usual alarm/ICE/air-con people, and it has never given me a problem. And they did a neat job etc.

Thanks everyone,

I know this is rather a soft question but - can someone provide me with the postal address of Reading as I seem unable to find it on the net - only email addresses on the web page.

Also the Chiswick (yes, tis they) have had a couple of engineers look at the heating and assured me that this was how it is suppsoed to be. It sounded like BS but I had to get some extra view so thanks
