If so it's an original Homologation build for N-GT qualification .... are these the real forerunners?

Is there any difference between number 999 and number 1001? I doubt it...

Also rarely are chassis numbers built in order so unless you have a database of exact build dates you won't know which ones were the first 1000 and which weren't...not that it makes the slightest bit of difference anyway [;)]

Does 9011 count ? [&:]

You have your own unique N-GT Chassis numbers, from research there were only about 290 N-GT made out of 300 official designated chassis numbers so a vacant 10 Chassis numbers, would Porsche build one special wishes for you with one of the 10 vacant numbers?

It was thought that on the early cars, the first 10 vin numbers were reserved for Prototypes.

We know on the 993RS that 90009 was a prototype --- Tony Hatter said so [:D][:D]

I guess build dates are also a bit of a clue.

Nov '91 on 9011 ...

When the 964 was launched in 1989, it was decided very early on that the 0089 VIN number was set aside to be built as a lightweight 964 Rennsport 'Teppich' by the factory as a very exclusive homologation special. This car, built at Weissach, was sprayed in the lightest paint colour of GP Weiss (white has less pigment than all the other fancy colours and therefore is 'lighter').

Who owns this car now? Whoever it is you're a very luck chappy.
