I'm arranging to have my 997 underside cleaned by an ice-blasting company, apparently they do similar work for Porsche dealers, anyway if one or two more people would like to have their cars done at the
same time it would work out to be better value for money.

I'm based in Felixstowe and I'll be asking local garages for use of their ramps for the day so you'll need to be able to get to Felixstowe.

No dates are fixed yet but I expect it will be one day during the week sometime over the next month or so.

This isn't cheap and I expect it will work out at around £500 each all in.

 
I thought ice blasting takes the paint off, rather like sand blasting but more environmentally friendly
 
Hi,
It's only for the underside of the car to clean all the dirt off engine suspension etc. The undertrays and wheels would be removed during cleaning. You can look up the process on the interent and see videos on youtube.
I'm not trying to persuade people to do this, please look into it yourself if you feel your car could do with such a clean.
 
I used to deal with a company that refurbished old printing presses that were covered with printing ink. They had a huge blast room where the parts were blasted with dry ice, (solid carbon dioxide) They could clean anything off a painted surface leaving the paint untouched and ready to repaint. They were cleaning and degreasing in one operation. Is this the type of cleaner that is being offered? if it is, the method is very effective without causing damage to the substrate.

Yes that's the process. I'm currently trying to arrange for a local garage to allow the use of their ramps for the day, hopefully one of them will agree.
