Does anybody know this 924S?

I recently moved into a new flat and just around the corner is a red (well mostly pink now) 924S on an empty garage forecourt in North Devon which is currently available to let. I just went to have a closer look at it and noticed that there is a PCGB sticker just behind the interior mirror so I thought I'd ask if anybody on here recognised it.

The registration is B10 TAK and tax ran out late last year. The car hasn't moved at all since I noticed it several months ago and is backed right up to a 4x4 in a rather unloving way.

Seems a shame to leave a car that doesn't look in too bad condition to rot so I thought I might do some research and see if it is worth a rescue despite the fact I'm already rescuing an old 944.

I doubt that it's a genuine 924S as the earliest UK cars didn't arrive until late '85 and I believe they were all C reg vehicles. Possibly personal registration but I doubt it.

Looks like a personal reg as it's a digit short and also shows up on the DVLA as a 2.5 and has teledials on it which was the first thing that gave it away.

Hello., sorry I've not replied sooner, I've been on holiday to sunny Scotland (yes really!)

I have four other 'B' prefix 924S cars on the 924 database so which range from January to September 1986 so this car joins that group; and as 'dgw' points out this car is an early car with the earliest S models being registered in the UK in mid November 1985 as far as I know.
The current owner has declared the car as SORN until October.

DVLA say:

Date of Liability 01/10/2009
Date of First Registration 04/03/1986
Year of Manufacture 1986
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2479CC
Fuel Type Petrol
Vehicle Status SORN Not Due
Vehicle Colour RED
