This will be fun, given our history lads this thread could end up covering everything from existential discussions on the meaning of life, through a selection of bizarre and random cars some of us have driven at some point in our lives to why metal lock nuts are infinitely better than nylon lock nuts, you know like the junk fitted on non Porsche cars [:D].

What is a Spyder? It sounds scary to me and gives me the creeps already!

But really, what is the meaning of life Neil?

ok best non porsche youve ever owned..........

1987 monza blue jetta gt 16v. note not a gti but a gt . small bumpers small windows mechanical injection. still miss it.

Hmmm, my experience of other motors is limited. In terms of bang per buck the best car I have ever owned has to be the Peugeot 106 GTi. Fairly swift and frugal, yet being surprisingly roomy and practical. The roomy part may not count if you have feet bigger than size 10 or are taller than 6 foot! That car was plenty of fun. It was almost a little gutting to get rid, especially after they rose in value a little again after I sold mine!

Mk II Celica Liftback. Not a great car, but when I was 18 it put me in a league above the rusty old Escorts everyone else had. [:)]

E36 M3s were ace back in the day,321bhp made you king of the road and on a track day you could really pester 911s.
Car that most recently got to me was my 205 gti fitted with KWs,light mods to engine, was such good fun,it had to go because it cost more than a Porsche to run as I kept breaking it,fix it,break it,fix it.....call AA... And repeat....

Ford Escort RS 1600 BDA engine full Boreham Rally Pack The business for club rallying back in the 70/80s. Wish I'd put it away in a barn, or better still an air con. garage, there's another thread.
