Hiya,,,
Was thinking forward about future jobs,,,,
At some point i probably have my s2 painted,,,
All sills totally fine [been done well,, before] and no rust,,
but other owners bottled out and instead of doing it right just had panels painted and however good the match is,,i have always been told ideally you would paint the whole car,,,,
with that in mind i wondered about doing mine and after my last s2 was painted it wasnt long after i let her go [which i still regret]...
i felt although she looked wonderful ,,a bit of character went and dont want to feel that way with this one,,,,
any other owners felt this way after a repaint?,,,,,,,,jasonp

I reckon if you repaint them they always lose some character - would hate that with mine.

Thats the thing Paul,,,
those memories,,,good and not so good are gone kinda of gone when she is all shiny with a new skin,,,,

modern paints just don't have the same look as the old time stuff, the gloss levels and reflective index are just not the same.

so yes they do loose a little character

Very much this^^^ often looks like the paint is too thick.
