"Does what it says on the tin"

Time for another 'keep it in the 944 family' thread.

Its the same Adam who's strut brace I borrowed to test out and then pass on to Fen to fit onto his track slag. It's also the same Adam who now owns the Turbo that was originally bought new by Mark Koeberle also of Titanic 944. It was recently resprayed by the same bodyshop in Leighton Buzzard that did the front end respray of my poor old LIL.

Incestuous times we live in [:D]

You know most of the story: turbo wore out, new one being fitted along with head gasket change, Jon Mitchell finds scoring of one cylinder so we need a rebore to 0.5mm oversize, may as well fit 2.8 pistons while I have this done, can't find a reliable rebore shop that can fit me in for months. Waiting, waiting, waiting, then all of a sudden Jon manages to obtain a BRAND NEW 3 litre block. Now all I need is an S2 or 2.7 crankshaft and a 2.7 head, then we can fit some 8:5.1 compression pistons and ZOOOOM

Have spent the past fortnight just missing out on buying the 2.7 bits, but we think that this week we should get them sorted. Nearly bought a 2.7 track car on Ebay last week (missed it [])

In the meantime if anyone hears of a crank and head, you know who to call [:)]

Yes, he was tempting me with that block a couple of months back, guess who's engine is going to blow up just after Pauls is fixed. [&:]

Interesting project then. Guess I'd better be keeping my eyes open for a good S2 short engine as a base for a 3.0 16v turbo....[:D]

Fen isn't that the factory S3 Turbo then (968 Turbo S)
[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]No, the 968 TS was 8v. Even if it was it would still be superior as it wouldn't have the plug-ugly 968 front end, of course [;)][FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Rick, if you meant my wallet then not really; I'm not serious. Well, only half serious. Unless an S2 engine comes up at the right money. Especially one with scored bores - they go to 3.1 or 3.2 you know... [8D][FONT=verdana,geneva"]

[FONT=verdana, geneva"]In deciding what to do with my car I got a quote on an engine from a breaker - around £1800+shipping+VAT for a complete engine. Could buy a whole car for that! (or should that be holey car?)
