This year’s Historic just happens to coincide with the late April/1st May bank holiday weekend, which is good news if, like me you normally have to rush back due to work commitments. Visitors to the Historic are again promised a fantastic line-up of saloon and sports cars spanning several decades, some great on-track action and a busy off-track programme so there’s usually plenty to see and do.
My plan is to head down after work on the Saturday to allow a full day at the track Sunday returning after breakfast on the Monday and have booked to stay at the fairly local no frills Marston (Blue Jay) Inn nearby, should anyone else fancy a cost-effective chilled out weekend jaunt, the Historic weekend is normally well worth a visit.
