On the weekend 30th April/1st may there will be a Historic Festival at Donington Park Racetrack and we are having a club presence there

As the first meeting of the Midlands branch of PCGB was held at the Redgates Lodge (at the side of the racetrack) it will also compliment our 50th anniversary celebrations.

If you are interested in attending the event please post on this thread or email me.

This will give us an idea of how much space etc. will be needed
There is a possibility of the club members doing some parade laps.

Details of the event so far are;

The historic racing grids, to include:
Group C Le Mans cars
JD Classics Challenge races for Group A Touring Cars
Stirling Moss Trophy for pre-'61 sportscars
Formula Junior FIA Lurani Trophy
1000km race for pre-'73 sports-racing cars
RAC Woodcote Trophy for pre-'56 sportscars
Motor Racing Legends Pre-War Sports Car Series
HSCC Historic Formula

The racing will cover the '30s to the '80s, with stunning Group C Le Mans sportscars, Porsche 917s and Ferrari GTOs, Bentleys, Bugattis and Alfa Romeos of the pre-War scene "" plus plenty more besides.
also
Autojumble, art & photo, trade and memorabilia stalls
Off-track displays and entertainment
Group B rally cars in action
Historic kart racing

Should be a great weekend

Cheers

As a new member with a 993, I would be really interested in attending this event, I live in Retford Notts, and have been informed that R8 is my nearest group, does anybody else live towards this area?

Hi Neil and welcome, Not sure if anybody comes down from Retford but we do get some folk from South Yorks who do, they maybe able to meet up with you. Do come down to The Coopers Arms on Monday evening for our February meet if at all possible, its Quiz Night! Cheers

I've just received a flyer from Donington Park, with my Motor Sport mag, apparently they are putting a special package together for car clubs. This sounds similar to the Silverstone Classic, will the Club be taking advantage of trhis offer ?

If I'd waited a day for Porsche Post to arrive I would have learnt that our acceptance of this offer is dependant on take up. I am a definite and hope that enough members will also wish to participate.
