Absolutely brilliant day and blessed with fantastic weather. Hot track and lots of hot laps. Something like 40 Porsches in attendance. Nine of which were 964s. The closest to an RS being Karl's Jurgen Alzen turbo RS special. The rest of the field being made up of mostly caterfields and a few mini challenge race cars. Very few stoppages which were mostly caused by a couple of old Ford cossies beaching themselves.
Most of the 964 boys were new to tracking and will surely be back for more. A few spinners but everyone went home in one piece. Lots came along for passenger rides and I think all that sat in my seat were suitably impressed by the performance of the little 964s. The Goose popped along for the day and provided tuition in return for cakes and coffee []
Very well run by BaT as usual. Now just working through all the free piccies they gave me and will post them up soon []

His competitors will be grateful!![]
Not much talk on Silverstone Classic, I did make it there - what an event thats turned into. I spent most of my time in the new pits with the GT sports car cup and watching the racing. Didnt get to the porsche stand I'm afraid.

except there werent any RSs at Donny either (sorry 1 yellow one! ).
Spot on Hugh. The date change from the 10th to the 24th meant that our RS brothers had to drop owing to prior commitments like sprints and weddings, etc
but while I'm here...here's another pic of Craner Curves in its full glory []

Only my 3rd track day and this was the fastest circuit so far.
What an adrenaline rush.
And it was good meeting other 964's and passing on stories and tweaking hints.
Steve, thanks so much for organising it.
As you get no help organising these sorts of events for the 964's, now Dave's gone, I meant what I said about offering my help.
David.

You might be Melv, but I'm afraid I wont be joining you! However, I think that there are plenty that still will. The club has to cater for all types - think of it this way, you'll get to see a lot 993 RSs!! []
[will they bite?]

As long as its not a bit wet of course...
Looks like a great day Steve - would have loved to have got there but had 'issues' I needed to sort and then wanted to watch the GP before someone told me the result! Glad I did, cracking race.
Next time I promise to be there and on track also...[]

Agreed 100%. Looking at interesting cars parked up is OK to a certain extent, but once they are moving, esp on track, you are transported to a different level. Although I am quite close to Spetember 'field'....I will be at home on the day. Very likely to pop along to CC the day before though.......

Shame you couldn't make it Jason, I think there was a spare place or two on the day but you're right, it would have been difficult to avoid the GP result as the news of how it was going was constantly passing round the garages.
Apart from enjoying lots of track time the memorable moments of the day were; rounding coppice to find a 964 in the middle of the track pointing the wrong way (Tom), a 964C4 understeering off the track at Mcleans and doing some dirt tracking (Frank), Sifly's track prepped Golf GTI buzzing us all throughout the day, Talat pottering round in and old 3 series touring, meeting Andrew Churcher for the first time who must be the biggest aussie bloke ever to fit in a 964 and David (Dekker) cruising round, roof down without a care in the world, doing a royal wave type of thing as we overtook him []
Endurance medal for the weekend went to new member Frank who suffered a number of breakdowns both travelling up the night before and on the day (starter motor, puncture, fuel leak) but refused to be beaten and managed to get to the end of the day.
