Donington Track Day - Passenger Request

I will be at the PCGB Donington Track Day on the 8th June, and promise to keep over to the right side of track to avoid being a mobile chicane to your much faster cars - my humble 2.4T is a great drive, but not exactly quick :-(

The reason for this post is that I will be bringing along my 18 year old son, and he is desperate for a passenger ride in a 'fast Porsche' as opposed to my 'slow Porsche'.

Would any of the 964RS crowd be willing to give him (and me) a passenger ride ?

Here is my car at Donington with Gold Track last year. I am booked on to the pre-73 day at Silverstone as well.

Hi there Ian...remember chatting to you at that very same event last year (Goldtrack). You were parked in the garage next to that "Jaegermeister" RSR replica...am I right? Do you remember how loud that unsilenced 996 RSR was?![]
Will be at Donington on my own so would be happy to take either of you out for a few laps. Not sure that they will be the quickest laps of the day with my driving skills, but there we are!
Look forward to seeing you both on the 8th.

Regards, Matt.

Matt

Yes, that was me, up against all the much quicker Ferraris, 996RSR, Peugeut Spyders, Radicals etc., but I did pass the big Cobra so that was OK.

I am very aware that I am slower than most, but equally I do get over to the right on the straight and let them through, so not really a problem.

Looking forward to the 8th, and the wether has got to be better than today - just done an oil change in between two downpours :)

I'm not in an RS Ian, but if you fancy slower laps, jump in when the pass. seats mt.

Yes, happy to give you pax laps, mainly in the morning (got tuition from Sean in the afternoon).

Welcome to have some PAX laps with me but first time at Donington so may improve by the afternoon.

I also may be one of the slower RS' there, but it is a clib spot and I don't mind taking tuition from my passenger --- scream if you want to go faster ?

Am looking at a 911E so would be interested to hear your experience ---

Great to see so many 964RS' out for the day today, and thanks to Jason for the passenger ride.

Boy do those cars have grip and power :)

No problem Ian nice to meet you and hopefully see you soon

Shame Ian that you must have been too scared to go out in my RS with no brakes! [:D][:D][:D] Next time I will wipe the smile off your face! Thanks for showing me around your car - nice range of cars at Donington today.

Chris

Drop by and say 'hello' and I can take you out in the old 911 :)

Ian

Sorry Ian,

I was really busy up to Donny and have only just seen this mail --- what an offer, wasted !

Next time please ?

Thanks everyone for a great day around the RS's.

Time got away with me and I spent a few 30 minute spells on track and then a cool-down for me and the car didn't leave much time for passenger trips.

If you all do an RS day, please let me know and perhaps I will look to come along for a passenger day only !

Chris - there is a pre-73 day on 28th July at Silverstone, so lots of early cars to grab a ride in then if you want to come along.

Ian
