Donington track day report

All,

Just thought I'd share my views on todays trackday at Donington as i know a fair few of you have signed up for next sunday/sunday after.

My first thoughts on the day... Jesus I've never seen soo many people at a driviers briefing outside of the Nurburgring!! It did make me think there would be mass overcrowding but credit due to teh organisers even though the queue in the pit lane looked huge there was pleanty of space out on track with only a couple of "trains" going through craner curves.

The attendees did varey from a couple of single seaters and a smattering of 7's to almost all of the novice session looking like they'd be more at home in a MacDonalds carpark! Yes it was a bit Chavvy but sisnce I was running in the intermediate session I felt safe.

The weather was stunning.. sunny and cold, my tyres came in from the session 'slightly warm'. On the whole the car behaved superb, for my first track outing in it after having a 7 in the past I was amazed at how easy the car was to drive and after the 2 'ducka and drakes' laps i was happy to hit the gas and had the the tyres squeeling like a stuufed pig through most of the corners ( crap tyres im trying to get through before i change them).

I got a bit worried after a couple of sessions when i stopped to check the oil, I had amassed some 'mayonaise' on the inside of my filler cap, so did some easy sessions at low revs playing with trying to get the back end to step out and such.

All in all a fantastic days entertainment and worth the money. Enjoy!

Glad you enjoyed yourself Lali [:D] I did think about it this morning when I was driving home south along the M1 in glorious cool, crisp sunshine and dry roads. I saw a few potential track cars heading north at 07:30 and wondered if it would be as nice a day for the rest of us next Sunday.

I hope so [:)]
