Hi Kerry,
Thank you for the code . As always much appreciated.
Looking forward to joining R8 at the weekend. Had a great
time at the Historic last year.
Best, Manjit

Hi

Just a reminder that although there does not appear to be a cut of date for the Donington Historic ticket offer, if you leave it too late and have to pay on the gate you will not recieve a pass to get your Porsche into the infield.

We also hope to have a parade lap with 50, 911s on the Sunday lunch time. This event will be on a first come, first served basis but thinking of last year we had just over 50 911s turn up so most of you will hopefully get a lap. We cannot under any circumstances take reservations for this though as that would make it a logistical nightmare for us !

If two drivers get together to buy two bogof tickets but wish to bring two cars, you can apply to the organisers to get two infield passes but these must be for Porsches and once again do not leave it too late.

Hope to see you there

Tom and Kerry

Hi

Just booked Donington and Silverstone, I have had my 911 for just four weeks, looking forward to the laps at Silverstone and hopefully Donington, which is on my doorstep. Hope to meet some of you at either event, I unfortunately work away a lot mid week and therefore struggle to attend mid week meets. Does the R8 group meet regularily? attend any particular shows?

Cheers Drinky aka Carl

PS just completed my membership application on line.

Hi Carl
Details of R8 meetings are in Porsche Post under ' East Midlands Region 8'.
We meet on the first Monday of every month at the Coopers Arms at Weston-on-Trent and we look forward to seeing you there and/or at Donington Historic.
Cheers
Tom

[FONT=arial unicode ms"]Hi everyone[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=arial unicode ms"]We have been to set up at Donington today and, as seems to be the precedent, we have be allocated far less parking area than cars we are expecting[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=arial unicode ms"]We have, however, negotiated an overflow area and the good news is that most of us will have track side parking. It is a little complicated though so please be a little patient.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=arial unicode ms"]We are, as usual, based in the infield at Redgates corner so just follow the instructions from the green coats.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=arial unicode ms"]The weather should be sunny and we look forward to some great racing.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

If anyone has a spare adult ticket for any days let me know [:)]

I try to take the boys for a couple of hours each year but that is their limit until boredom kicks in!

Looks like good weather so hope you all have a good weekend!

[FONT=arial unicode ms"]Hi Everyone[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=arial unicode ms"][FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=arial unicode ms"]We hope that all the members that attended the Festival had a good [FONT=verdana,geneva"]time and to those who could not attend on Sunday, I am pleased to say we had a successful parade lap of 50 x 911s, at lunchtime which even though I say it myself was quite an event for Region 8. Many thanks to all the drivers that took part as we 'could not have done it without you'.

On a sad note, unhappily, in one of the last races of the Sunday, a racing driver was killed in his pre "˜66 Mini Cooper S. I think we all went home feeling deflated after an excellent 3 days of races and our condolences go out to his family and friends.

Kerry and Tom

In spite of the sad end, many thanks for organising a great day for all that attended on Sunday. My first time there, I know how much work it takes to make it all go so smoothly - and great weather too!

Would like to add my condolences to the family and friends of Christian Devereux.

It was a very sad and unfortunate end to an otherwise lovely weekend.

Thank you to David for allowing me the opportunity to take some pictures from his car.

There are a few pictures of the parade laps Here

And some of the remainder of the weekend Here
