I have just received the following information from Tom & Kerry about the Historic festival meeting at Donnington:

As in previous years, R8 will have the region's marquee with refreshments and all members buying tickets with the club's code will receive a car pass to bring their Porsche to join us (if, as previous years, then this will on the inside of Redgates corner)

The code to buy two for the price of one tickets is PCGBDHF14

The Donington Park website to buy tickets is

http://www.donington-park.co.uk/

or if you cannot find the link it is

http://www.donington-park.co.uk/events/2014/05/03/donington-historic-festival/

click on buy tickets and you will be then given the chance to put in the club code and buy two tickets for the price of one

(I think you have to buy two for the discount not expect if you buy one you get another free)

Or call 0844 873 7355 to order over the phone

ADVANCE TICKET PRICES (before discount)

ADULT SATURDAY £20.00

ADULT SUNDAY £20.00

ADULT MONDAY £20.00

ADULT 2 DAY WEEKEND (SAT/SUN or SUN/MON) £32.00

ADULT 3 DAY WEEKEND (SAT/SUN/MON) £45.00

PROGRAMME VOUCHER £7.00

Children 13 and under go free if accompanied by a paying adult.

Please note that a booking fee applies and will be added to the above prices.

These advance ticket prices close at 5pm on Wednesday 30th April 2014.

On the gate prices will be slightly higher than the prices shown above and you will not be able to drive your Porsche into the field to join us

Tickets will be dispatched approx 3 weeks before the event.

We were hoping that more of the infield would be available for car club parking in 2014 but this will be not be until 2015 so if it is wet then parking will be tight and a little inventive! If it is dry - like 2013- then parking will be much less of a problem. This is because we can use the grass.

We can also say that it will be a great weekend of racing and, as usual at Donington Park, a really friendly event.

Any further information, contact me

R4 are looking to go to the Historic Festival on Sunday 4th May. Have a look at the information on the R8 forum, you need to purchase tickets by mid April to get the discount and only advanced tickets will be allowed to the Porsche stand on the infield. I will arrange a route and pick-up points for us all to arrive en-mass. The First one will certainly be at the Bentley Hotel although the Grimsby area crowd may want to meet up along the way? All other information will be posted as soon as it becomes available. Arrange your own tickets but please inform Richard or I if you are going, we need to know who to meet along the route.

So far, there is only Richard and myself going, I think John and Graeme may too. Is that it from 150 members? Please contact ASAP if you have any interest in attending.

Hi Gavin......just to let you know I've booked and paid for attendance on Saturday 3rd (including an infield pass). Maybe meet you at Junction 2 M180 on the day for the trip down? Regards Kev

Kev, sorry mate, don't want to sound unhelpful but we have all got tickets for Sunday. Tom & Kerry will look after you in the infield.

Hi Gavin, Well I've got round to it. I have booked my tickets for Sue and myself for Sunday, 4th May, including the "infield ticket". I hope to read on this forum possible meeting venues and times before the date. Being a track visit, Murphy will be left at home so I need to plan the morning accordingly. Hi all Some members from R7 will be attending on the Sunday and just gauging interest in meeting up en route. Some from York and Leeds and myself from Selby so any suggestions would be welcomed. John

Hi Gavin, now I have got round to logging on to the forum, I would love to join you ,but will be at Spa for the second round of the Le Mans series, looking at the calendar ,there will be a few clashes as the Big Event in September clashes with my second visit to Spa for the Historic Racing Festival, Bother or words to that effect, Cheers

So far we have 3 from Grimsby, one from Gainsborough area and one near Lincoln, anyone else from R4 coming along? as well as our friends from R7. I thought meet up in Grimsby, next pick up at Bentley (Lincoln) then on to Newark to pick up R7 guys from the A1. There is a premier Inn/McDonalds/KFC just off the A46 roundabout on Lincoln Rd. Its only 100 yds from the roundabout so easy to find and see, chance to grab a coffee or breakfast too. From there we proceed down the new A46 to the A52 and the A453. ( Now staying on the A46, see Helliwk post) Timings: Grimsby 0845, Bentley Hotel 0940, Newark 1000, Donnington 1045. Open to further suggestions and meeting points.

Hi Gavin, Got my tickets today so will be at the A46/A1 meeting point at 10.00 Hrs. I would suggest that we keep on the A46 and use the A6006 on to Wymeswold, Rempstone and Kegworth and then J24 for Donington. The A453 from Nottingham is just one long speed limit festooned with average speed cameras now. Keith 993 Targa in Polar Silver

The programme for Sunday races are as follows: 11:10 11:35 25 race HSCC Historic Formula 3 – Race 2 11:50 12:20 30 race HTCC for 1966-85 Touring Cars – Race 2 12:20 13:20 60 Lunch Break / Parades and Demonstrations 13:20 14:20 60 race Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy for pre-56 sportscars 14:35 15:00 25 race HSCC Martini Trophy with SuperSports – Race 2 15:15 15:45 30 race Motor Sport 90th Anniversary Trophy for pre-War Sports Cars Race1 16:00 17:00 60 race U2TC pre-66 under two-litre Touring Cars 17:15 17:40 25 race Maserati Centenary Trophy – Race 1 17:55 18:55 60 race FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship for Le Mans-style sports cars and ‘Group 4′ cars 1962 – 1974 The stuff prior to 11:10 is just qualifying for the afternoon races. We may be lucky to catch qualifying for the Le mans sports car race.

That's 2 of us so far meeting up at Ferrybridge Services on A1 at 9am before heading south to meet with you guys further down at A46 intersection at 10am. John

Following a conversation with John Payne and Donnington, Infield access closes at 1100 and Donnington is almost sold out, so delays possible. Therefore I think to be safe, we should move all times forward by 30 minutes. Sorry to mess you about, but hate to miss our chance because of traffic. So Grimsby 0815, Lincoln 0910, Newark 0930 and at Donnington 1030ish. Please let me know if you've seen it and will meet.

Thanks for the update So that's Ferrybridge Services 0830 then A1/A46 roundabout 0930 Let me know if that's ok and if anyone else meeting enroute? John

I wonder whether it is possible to cut across from Hathern to Donington / EM airport rather than going up the road to J24, hopefully cutting down on queueing. It looks ok to do this on Google maps. Steve (R7)

Hi Everyone It has been confirmed that we are on the inside of Redgates corner as we have been in previousl years. Just for your info, this is an exact extract from the last email I recieved from the organisers; "PARKING ON THE STANDS By now you will, hopefully, have thoroughly got the message from me that Sunday will be full. Packed in fact. For some stands (esp. Porsche Club GB!) it will require considerable logistical skills to get all your members on the space available. Please understand that our hands have been tied this year, and things really will be different for 2015." This being the case please be patient with Tom and I and the team on Sunday when it comes to parking and expect a degree of inventiveness . As you can see this is out of our hands despite my emails requesting enough space. We have managed this minor problem in previous years so it is nothing new to us. Dunkirk spirit and all that! The weather looks good for the weekend/bank holiday so we look forward to seeing you all on one day or another Cheers Kerry
