Just had a few extra relays handy and i noticed that there's a few unfilled plugs in my fusebox..so i plugged in the headlight washer relay...result - 1. as soon as the pop ups came up the washers started..and kept going til i switched lights off..2.when the screen wash tank finally had no more to offer the motor kept going plus the pop ups went up'n'down up'n'down up'n'down..and that was going on when the ignition was off and lights switched off..as soon as i switched the lights "on" with ignition "off" they stopped..so i guess i've learned not to put it there if it wasn't there before..

What a strange afternoon..

The imobiliser has been removed from my car before i got it, the fob does all the right things but dont stop the ignition from being turned on when you put the key in, meaning the flashing light on the dash goes out. i have been known to hot wire a few cars in the past "only to help a stranded female who has lost her keys, in the pooring rain with a 6th month old child in her arms shrouded by her soden jacket, this too commenced in ASDA car park or the autobahn whilst trying to follow sideways ben, at the speed of light in the dark behind john simms chasing beaky [;)]??????!!!!!!!" a direct wire from positive side of the the battery to the coil skips the ignition switch completely and gives you the ability to start the car with another wire with a current capability of carrying the feed to the live side on the starter motor..................... I dont suppose you have a sunroof relay spare as mine packed up when it was raining.....its not raining now but i bet it will be soon.......

LOL [:D]

The thing with the 944 fuse box is some of the relays aren't relays at all, they are just a convenient way of redirecting the loom- or getting it to do something different - by adding what are little more than convenient blocks of jumper wires.

See the thread on dim dip delete as a prime example.
