Don't shoot me....

Hi all,

Recently there's been an increasing number of examples of bypassing the swear filter by miss-spelling words in a very obvious way. A lot of people don't want swearing on this forum, it's why we have a swear-filter in the first place. Some users have asked for it to be mentioned, and I agree with them personally.

Not wanting to get all heavy, but a lot of people use the 944 forum and it's only fair we all keep a few basic rules in mind or it puts people off. Can we try to avoid this getting to the point where the moderators have to start editing posts just because people can't find a better word to use? This isn't Pistonheads. [;)]

Thanks!

Perhaps some examples of whats not acceptable will help people from overstepping the mark? [:D]

T'aint rocket science. Just that if you want your kids reading the forum it's not clever for someone else to change a few letters around to make a swear word. Examples might be hugely amusing, or if the majority of you want a forum where any amount of swearing is allowed then let's raise it at the Club's AGM?

I occasionally add an asterisk or two, in place of the correct letters: but I dont ever change letters around.

I guess offence could be caused depending on what word is being used/masked, not all can be judged equally... But yes I have been guilty of this too recently, point taken.

I for one am guilty, please accept my apologies if offended,i will watch my P's & Q's from now on [:(]

Agree with you Paul. This is an extremely useful and informative forum with at times a good degree of amusement. The nice, civilised, grown up way in which it operates makes a pleasant change from the vast majority of forums which can be somewhat puerile to say the least, at times.[:)]
