Don't Use E10 In France/Belgium!

Just a quick reminder for those of us taking FE Porsches to the R25 WOTY shortly - don't put standard 95 RON fuel in your car in France and Belgium, it can contain 10% ethanol which will do your fuel lines etc no end of harm - stick to the 99 RON super!

Use TOTAL 98 They have guaranteed NOT To put Ethanol in it
Unless forced to do so by Govt.

I don't think any of the 98-99RON fuels have ethanol in them - there's been a very informative thread recently on one of the MB forums I frequent, that's what flagged this to me as we have 17 cars heading for France and Belgium on Friday! Over here it seems the 95 RON fuels contain 5% ethanol so would be OK - although I only use 99RON in my 968, I often used regular 95RON unleaded in my 968 coupe without problems. However, I understand that in France there are E10 (10% ethanol) as well as E5 95RON regular unleadeds, so we owners of older cars have to be careful.

I am not sure if other 98 petrols have E in them i must look
But I stick to Total or BP over here which certainly do not
You would be shocked at the damage E petrol has done to
My classic bikes in the UK .
There is now a substance to to take the E out !
Yet another eu ruling we could do without to join the wind farms !
Have a great trip. Regards to Phil and Pearl

I think it must be Mark, it is all part of an EU directive.
I am pretty sure the members from the Merc club have mentioned it
On their pilgrimages to Essen
It has to be on the pump E10 as so many motorists sued the govt and
petrol people 5 or more years ago.i am reluctant to put it in any vehicle.
As you can imagine it has caused havoc in the Vintage clubs.

In Netherlands and Germany recently all pumps I stopped at were very clearly marked with their E levels.

Thanks for a really informative post, as R4 are setting off on a Dambusters Tour next Month, we needed this advice!

Many thanks
