Had a great run on Wed with a mate with a Leon Cupra R (highly modded one at that) Boy the turbo is fast, and I am a chicken no the road, but left his car trailing in my wake.

The amount of grip out the corners is quite something compared to a front wheel drive, there was not much in a straight line between the two cars (up to 100) but in the bends the turbo gets it power down sooo well. You have to love the LSD.

Its amazing how quickly you get used to the speed on a run, I slowed down to let him catch up and went round a few bends, looked at the speed and was still at 80!!!!! You have to love these Scottish roads. [8D]

Hi Stephen,

Had a very similar experience to you the other day when a new BWM M3 CSL thought 'he'd have a go' and demonstrate the superority of his more refined and modern machine (compared to my humdrum 1989 and hence dated 944 Turbo example).

He did look a little surprised as I gently cruised past him (at about 130mph) - wicked! Almost as good as all those 911, 993 and 996 Turbo's that become a distant object in my rear view mirror at Porsche Club Trackdays (not to mention GT3s and GT2s).

Not very modest I know - but there really is something most enjoyable having a 420+bhp 'Q' car ;-)

Regards,
Andrew

Cruised by, i love it.....[:D]

I would love to have been there. Perhaps one day....Oh how i dream of MAP and new injectors and new intercooler and new turbo and new wheels and new brakes........ See what you have started.

For the time being i will have to make do with a paultry 300ish bhp. Dyno run on the way...
