Worse thing is I'm not sure if it happened at home so now I can't even leave my own car on my own drive without worrying []

[]Bastards but what if you had seen them doing it? You could end up with a criminal record and they could end up on a 2 week jollie care of the tax payers of UK Ltd [] "Its a mad world we live in these days"

I know its a pain in the arse but look on the bright side at least they didnt damage or scratch the bonnet.
Maybe there is some other way of securing them onto the bonnet so if they do attempt to steal them they come off easier and dont damage the bonnet.

Far too sensible these replies - castration's too good for 'em [;)]

They have managed to sratch all the paint off under the badge as well [:'(]

On the positive side the front end needs painting anyway to get rid of all the stone chips

2 years ago I sold my last pride and joy and bought my current pride and joy.

Soon after some neanderthal b*$£%rd [] decided that the badge would look nice elsewhere than on the front and the poor baby was attacked with a large screwdriver leaving two giant deep gouges in the paint, through to the metal. I looked to replace it with a stick on one (ala new GT3RS) but couldn't find one at the time the right size so went for a standard metal badge.

Exactly where the dastardly act took place I cannot be sure.[][][][]

You have my sympathy

I've had 3 badges nicked in the last 18 months, on occasions when the car was parked in the street. It was kids from a neighbouring estate who occasionally make their way over in my direction. After the last one, I swore I was going to sit in hiding clutching an axe handle, wearing a balaclava, park the Turbo in a badly lit area, wait, and scare the living $h!t out of the first oik to go within 2metres of the car. Instead I took to removing the badge when the car was parked on the street (to avoid bodywork damage my badges aren't 'locked' on). Although to be honest nobody has ever touched the 924 when it's been covered, with the added bonus that I hardly ever need to clean it [8D]

Having spurned my specialist's advice to rig the 944 badge up to an ignition coil, the circuit to be activated upon removal of the badge, I have been considering for a while the possibility of incorporating it into the vehicle's alarm system. May get round to it one day...

How about removing the badge entirely and using a full colour decal instead? Keep the real badge on your mantle over the fireplace. [;)]

All good weight saving advice. [:)]

It would mean filling the holes on the badge panel first or they would show through the decal. You said you were going to have to get the front sprayed anyway. [;)]

[]Thats crap[] If you catch them, jam a metal ruler between their front teeth and 'twang' the end.
I found an egg covering drivers side windscreen and over the roof, dried on lovely in the sun the other day. Washed off as quick as poss. before it ate in.
'Good job it was only an egg and not a brick!' I thought to myself. Wrong, why be grateful for less vandalism.

Sorry to see this []

FWIW, the 968 badge is slightly different from the 944's, as it is blocked by two additionnal nuts, unlike the 944's.
It is therefore practically impossible to get it stolen ... but the front panel (or the hood, on 968s) may get damaged in case of stubborn stealers.

In the first instance I was agreeing with Dan's suggestion to make it easier to get off not harder. That way they are less likely to damage the car. The down side of this is that then the little scum bags go looking for another one, thinking they come off without to much trouble, only to sod up someone elses car.

Best option is to weld the badges on then they will never get them off.

I like the thought of riging them up to the mother of all capacitors though.
