door gaps / seals?

After a lengthy period fixing my 944, its finally on the road. As this is the first time I have driven it, there is a few things needed to get it going properly.

These are things like gear shift linkage, exhaust leaking, various rattles etc - but my biggest bug bear just now is the win noise from the front doors.

There appears to be big gaps on both front doors, up around the glass between the door and the B pillar. the are folds in the metal of the body and the door, about halfway up the B pillar, and about 4 inches long.

What are these for, and how can they be sealed? they seem to be ideally situated to provide the maximum noise just to the right of my ear.

If I understand you correctly you're missing a door rubber:

OK, if i see that photos right, there should be a second seal, fitted to the doors, not the car frame, running in the square groove around the very outer edge of the door?

checking mine, there could be marks where this was once stuck in there?

OK, next obvious question, who still supplies these?

ok, next question, why would soomeone remove these? aarrggghh!

also seen just quickly looking at porscheshop as well, but will also try out my members discount at opc as well in aberdeen.

Cheers for super fast response

A good up grade while you have the opportunity is to fit the seals from a post 19993 968 these have an additional strip that sits flush between the two windows.

Another source is Forest Fine www.forestfine.com/porsche they specialise in seals

Not cheap tho are they? £55 per side - wonder if i can just tape over the doors with duct tape and silicon sealant and enter the car 'dukes of hazzard' style....
