Door handle needed

I need drivres door exterior handle for race car - anyone help please? Not worried about it's cosmetic condition. Is it same as Golf mk 1 anyone know?

It is the same as the Passatt of the early '80s - not sure if its the Golf as well but could be
Try PH sportscars - Shardlow nr Derby - they will know and have one (probably!)

It looks the same as a VW part, but theyre totally different inside. You can buy repair parts now, but Paul should be able to help you out, which will be easier/simpler.
 
I can confirm that it is NOT same as Golf GTI internally - found out the hard way.
Which Paul are you referring to GC8?
 
Paul Higginson @ PHSportscars, as suggested by Mike. Repair kits are available for the common failure (on eBay), but I cant comment on their ease of fitting. Fitting a complete handle will be a bit easier, although I wont be such a large step to fit the part after youve stripped the door...
