door handle wanted

Has anyone got an o/s exterior door handle for an early 944/924 (plastic insert type),doesnt matter if the exterior trigger has snapped as long as the internal bit that the rod attaches to is present as mine has snapped and i have to climb in from the passenger side !!!

I always thought that they were mk2 golf handles. £9.50 + VAT from GSF if I'm right..

nice tip about the golf handles If not I have got one somewhere I bought on ebay that I never fitted to my Lux you are welcome to it for the cost of postage

I seem to remember that the golf handles are a different fit internally but can be made to fit,which is why the porsche logo handles are fetching stupid money to go onto golf gti's !!. Nick tahnks for the offer let me know how much i owe you and how to pay .Thanks John.

Me and my big mouth ! [] just took a quick look whilst fixing the wash mach and couldn't find it ! I haven't seen it for a year or so . I'll take a better look tomorow in the workshop. Don't rely on it too much as I may have lost it !

Hold back a little - I think that the VW handles won't fit 944's either. They look very similar, and work in the same way, but I don't think they screw straight on.

I'm sure they will work with modification, but that modification could be significant. Yes, I have seen Porsche ones fitted to VW's, but I have also seen some very heavily modified VW's ...

Sorry I'm not massively familiar with the door handles, but would one of the repair kits such as Ebay item number 370061777185 do the job?

(I've not quite got the hang of hyperlinking on this forum yet.)

sorry random hero . I've now dismantled my entire house and not found the bloomin handle anywhere.

I have found our missing Christmas tree lights and some of these !so it wasn't a complete waste of time .Now I just need to find a reputable local builder .....[]

Cheers matt just the part i was looking for,but i rang chris at exeter porsche and ordered one off them for £8.66 inc vat with free postage !!!
