Hi Guys got an issue with my key fob...usual thing LED light comes on but wont open/lock the doors. OPC East London asked me to put it in ignition hold one of the buttons down for 5 seconds and see if it flashes which it does but still will not lock/unlock door. My first thought is battery in transponder has gone looked at doing this myself but looks very fiddly. Anyone else had this and if key has totally given up ghost is that coverd under warranty?..Any advive greatly appreciated

Have you tried the other key?

It may well be under warranty, however the battery would not be.. a friendly chat with the OPC spares would probably sort the battery out(rather than the service guy )
Being as you mention having the key in the igniton I will ignore the standby feature of the car that works after 7 days and will not open the car off the keyfob...

You might need to re-synch the key thus:

If indeed you need to re-synch it is done by:
1. Unlock driver's door with key. 2. Open driver's door and insert key into ignition lock within 10secs. 3. With key inserted press and hold button 1 (the lock/unlock) for about 5 secs. Synchronisation should then be complete. Good luck!

Thanks for your post (TSCaptain) on this. Been away for a few days, key wouldn't open the car, handbook in glovebox, but I remembered seeing the resynchroniastion post and it worked.
Thanks
Incidentally I use a Ctek unit via the cigar lighter to keep the battery topped up when the car's not likley to be used and it works brilliantly.
