Door Lock Adjustment

Guest

Hi,

Are the door locks or catches adjustable to give a tighter close on the door seal? I have wind noise on my drivers door and think it is due to a badly adjust lock or catch I have looked but nothing seems to have elongated holes for adjustment. Any ideas??

Thanks

Pete

Pete,

It's not something I've done on the 964 but I guess I'm with you in expecting that the striker plate on the door jamb would be adjustable. Usually, if you loosen the screws holding the plate to the door jamb I'd expect there to be some movement - sufficient to adjust the shut line at least. Does the door LOOK like it closes in line with the body??

I had a horrendous problem with wind noise in my car and eventually found that it was caused by some relatively minor splits in the door seal. I replaced both door seals for about £35 (off eBay) and that totally solved the problem.

Here's a link to the door seals if you need them.

Regards

Dave
