Door locking issue

Hi having trouble locking passenger door with the key in the drivers door although it locks from the inside with the button on the dash
I'm using key manually at the moment as buttons stopped working on the key but its not locking passenge side, I've done the 3 turns and it beeps twice, do you think it's the passenger door lock even though it locks via the dash button or another point in the central locking chain
cheers all

When you lock the driver's door with the key, does it arm the system? The red LED at the front centre of the dash will flash.

If it doesn't, then the driver's door lock might be at fault. There is a microswitch in the door lock which is triggered when you turn the key to the lock position. The driver's door will be physically locked by the key, but if the microswitch isn't reading, it won't activate the central locking to lock the passenger side.

Thanks for the info, I've just bought a new passenge lock lol
what you say makes perfect sense, I have just noticed that my drivers window goes down and up once opened but not as far as the passenger window so there might be a few issues on the drivers door
thanks again

That sounds very odd then. When the alarm system is active it will stop the windows working on the buttons, but if it is unlocked, I don't think the driver's door lock would affect the passenger window.

Ideally, it would be best to get it plugged in to a Porsche tester, which will show the state of the microswitches in the locks. There are 5 switches in each lock, and two on each door handle.
