Door mirror 'problem'

Bit of a silly one this, I'm afraid. I don't know how it happened, but my door mirror wiring is poking out underneath the mirror, between the black plastic and the mirror body.

I need to split the two parts so I can poke the wires back inside.

I'd preferable like to be able to do this without dismantling the entire car.

Photo attached, but its not that clear.

To remove the mirror glass:

- adjust the mirror angle all the way forward at the top.
- look up from below, and behind the mirror you'll see its plastic mounting (you might need to push the top in further so the bottom sticks out further if you get what I mean).
- using a small flat-bladed screwdriver rotate the plastic mounting to release the mirror. Use the screwdriver in the small slots at the base of the mounting. Rotate anti-clockwise to unlock the glass and remove.
- if you have heated mirrors there'll be a connector on the back of the mirror glass which needs to be removed.
- You can now see how the black plastic trim and the metal body are fitted together.
- Hopefully now you can just carefully pull the wires back into the mirror housing - then tighten-up the screws which attach the plastic trim to the metal body (can't remember if they screws or small bolts)
- Refitting is simply a reversal of this procedure. [:D]
- Rotate the mirror mounting clockwise to lock it in place.
