Door mirror removal tip

If you want to take the door mirror off without cutting wires.

Drill a small holes in the plastic plug next to the shoulder and inline with each pin.

DONT DRILL THE PIN.

hold the pin (not the wire) with pliers (red in photo) while pushing a blunt object in the drilled hole and rotate the pin half a turn left and right.

This will flatten the retaining clip. pull the pin out with the pliers and gently open up the clip for reinstallation.

I did something similar involving a Stanley knife and a screwdriver. It worked fine for 4 wires, then next thing I knew the screwdriver was about 1" into the pad of my left thumb [&o]
