I may need to get one of my O/S door mirror on my 996 C4S resprayed and I am looking to take the mirror off rather than take the whole car.

Looking at PET it does not give me much of a clue how to do this, can anyone help?

The mirror clips off. Adjust it so that you can get your fingers under one edge, and be brave! Give it a tug and it will come off. Carefully take off the two heating wires. You will then see 3 (if I remember correctly) torx screws, which you undo. Then fold the mirror inwards a bit, and the casing can be removed.

I have a driver's side casing from my old 996, which I changed because the paintwork was badly chipped. If you would like it, you can have it for the price of the postsge, and you could get it rubbed down and sprayed, so you aren't without a mirror. Drop me an email if you want it.
