Door sills for a Boxster

I have seen a few of these as after purchase items on sale recently, embossed with the 'Boxster' logo - are they any good/worth it? Are the stick-on ones better than the screwed in/on versions? They are either stainless steel or carbon-look items.

If they can stop the scuffing and dirty marks on the door sills I think that they might be a good 'cosmetic' investment.

Any comments?

Sorry I cant give you the definitive answer you want, but I have the same dilemma. I see a lot of them advertised but they are not always honest about whether they are genuine Porsche parts, so I have held back so far. Also some don't seem to cover the edge that gets scuffed.
Hopefully someone has some 1st hand experience we can benefit from...

I've got the stainless steel stick-ons, genuine Porsche parts, came with the car. When I started checking out the Boxster in detail, the wide sills were one of the first things that I noticed and I knew that it wouldn't be long before they were destroyed with scuff marks and scratches. My car was 2nd hand and luckily had the sill protectors already, but I would've immediately got them if it hadn't, I think they were 200quid, pricey but worth it in my opinion. They look great, don't scuff easily and a quick wipe with a stainless steel cleaner hides the scuffs and makes them look like new. They don't cover the entire sill areas and don't extend to the edges but judging by where the marks are on mine, they do catch that spot that you tend to drag your feet across as you bring your right leg into the car.

PS - A T-cut style scratch remover will sort out any scuffs you might have on the sills, as long as you haven't scraped them too deeply. I've used the tube of turtlewax scratch remover on some minor scuffs recently and it works a treat.

Many thanks.

Oddly enough I saw some on sale for £35 for a pair!!

Obviously not Porsche items - but stainless steel stick -ons.

I wonder whether any will be on sale at Brands Hatch?

I have seen them on sale at Brands Hatch at £35 for the pair; stainless steel. Seems a good buy.

Any thoughts out there because I return tomorrow and will probably buy them.

Bought my set form Walton Hall last year for £25 a pair - genuine Porsche ones, albeit second hand, but most of the light scuffs polished out, and the heavier ones are the same as the ones i've added in the last 12 months. Easily installed with some double sided foam tape from B&Q

Thanks for your observations and help, folks.

Off to Brands Hatch tomorrow to get a stainless steel pair and try to stick them on so that they are aligned on both sides correctly.

They had sold out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will probably have to order them on the Internet. I have a brochure and I think that it has an order form.

When I get tehm I will let you know what I think of them.
