Door sticker

The car I've just bought has a sticker missing from the driver's door pillar. Does anyone know what the sticker should be and where I could get one please?

Thanks!

Short of going out to look I believe it is the manufacturers info ie chassis no, colour codes, country spec etc

Chassis (VIN) number, Gross & axle weights and something about lights by the look of mine.
(Appologies for the terrible picture quality - camera seems to be having a bad day!)

The info regarding colour codes & spec should be on the inside of the boot lid (and should also exactly match the sticker inside the service booklet).

Why is it missing - has body work been done?

If anyone wants to see a USA sticker on a 1998 Boxster made in Finland - here it is.

The first year of the Boxster was 1997 and all 1997s were made in Germany. The sticker was placed on the door sill - just below the striker for the latch. First thing you would see when you opened the door. Made in Germany.

When 1998 production started in Finland Porsche "hid" the sticker by placing it on the door itself. You have to open the door and get on your knees to get the info off the sticker.

A bit of worthless USA Boxstir trivia.

Can't wait until Porsche starts making cars in China....

You can only get it replaced by OPC or authorised body shop. I seem to remember it was £110 + fitting!!! Yes £110 for the sticker :-0 Its not absolutely essential but as per this thread it raises suspicions if its missing. Most likely missing due to corrosion under the door catch which was a common fault (one of those dear old Porsche refused to accept unless it was <5 years old making the 10 year corrosion warranty a bit of a sham). It nearly double the cost of the paint job on mine. Bitter ?......... mines a pint ;-)
regards
