Dose any body know ?

If i remove the hinge/tray section and lid from the centre console in the car will the 968 cs tray fit directly in its place ? or do i have to change the whole centre console to a 968 one ?

Intresting, when i asked my porsche parts guy he said there was no option for the 944...he said the 968 part for the tray was around 11 quid but he also mentioned there was another part which was around the same price which he said i might need ! What year is you turbo ? would you know if these prices sound right for these parts ? Tall order i know.[:)]

My S has a 968 tray instead of the cassete holder and it was swopped by a previous owner - it just drops in.
 
Most of the dash and interior trim in a 968 is identical to that of an oval dash 944. There are a few detail changes like the door cards and clock to name a couple, but on the most part everything is simply interchangeable

My turbo is an 88 model ,i also fitted a tray into one of my other cars which came out of an 86 lux but maybe they had been replaced by the previous owners ??. The only other part i can think you would need is the rubber mat that sits on the tray to cover the screw hole up.
 
Out of interest, why replace the cubby hole that is there as standard? I find the hinged top good for resting my elbow on, leaning on when needing to make notes, and it keeps the contents safe from prying eyes. As well as stopping everything from going everywhere at the first sight of a corner.

I'd have thought that removeing the hinged lid in favour of the 968 arrangement is a retrogade step. But I could be wrong ...

I would agree also but it depends on what the cars main use is.For a daily driver i would have the armrest but as my turbo is being turned into a track car i dont really see the point in an armrest.
 
If it's a real track car, I'd be taking out everything - including the thing wot the armrest screws onto.

So the question is moot!

Thanks for the replys gents...I went into the parts dept today and they do infact list them for the 944 so i ordered one along with a rubber mat, i guess the reason for shiping out the arm rest is due to the seat being so up right and non adjustable, so theres no chance of resting on it and i only fill it up with rubbish so its off to the garage loft with the rest of the interiour...any how i fancy a change.
