My son's mate has challenged me to beat his time in mk 2 golf that ran (according to my son) 11.9 sec quarter mile at 121 mph last week at santa pod. he has 4wd big turbo quattro engine with nitrous but I think this soudns too quick to be true. My car is completely standard and according to original autocar May 1995 did 12.3 @ 114 mph.

Anyone done this? I'm thinking to drop clutch at 4k, drop tyres to 35psi and see what happens...... any hints anyone??

i took my old carrera2 last year and did 14.2 @ 99 and was left for dead by an Impreza -
