Drilled Front Discs

Received a "pair" of drilled front discs as per the photo attached. Not being best pleased as one disc has twice as many holes as the other, I complained. It transpires that the lesser holed disc is an earlier version and they must have got muddled up. A replacement "new" version should be with me soon - it has been some time in getting things sorted.

The vendor suggested that I keep the lesser holed disc as the transport costs were such that returning it was unviable. I've been trying to think of things you can do with one brake disc but so far only come up with "Extreme Frizbee"

It'd make a nice clock

Good call Matt. I like the sound of that. I'm about tor start on my office/TV room extensionsion, which it to have a bit of a Motor Sport trendy loft feel about it, so a brake disc clock would fir in a treat.

Nice to see Rick back on the forum again, by the way.

Don't suppose we could even use it on the fire for National Day ....

Looking at the first site layout plan there is going to be sod all else to burn so we might just as well try that. :ROFLMAO: That said, if they invite the Hippy Vans again I'm sure they will burn a treat. [:)]

Was that P******hop being helpfull again?

Not on this occaision. Apparently, they don't supply Zimmermann discs as they consider the surface treatment to be softer and inferior to their own - which therefor allows them to charge more no doubt.[8|]

I'd have thought that a hard disc surface would be less effective in stopping the car than a softer surface. To my mind, part of the advantage of a drilled disc is to abrade the surface of the pad and reduce glazing.

I have a worn, but nicely polished, rear tyre for just that purpose. A nice disc of frosted toughened glass in the middle and a gentle uplighter inside - Oh, suits you Sir!

I have 4 tyres (n- rated) I tried to give away a while back (rears almost bald - fronts still legal), Anyone want them now?

Tony

(wheel is staying with me though!)
