Much as the title says really. A drive through some lovely Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire countryside on some excellent roads finishing with a pub lunch. 50 ish miles in total plus whatever it takes to get to the meeting point which is Manor Weald Service Station at GU8 5EL.

Lunch will be here http://www.pubwithnoname.co.uk/ which is a cracking pub that we've been to once before. After lunch, given how close it is, it would be foolish not to try out the new Hindhead tunnel. Perhaps in a lower gear than is strictly necessary...

Meet at 10:00 for a 10:15 departure.

As usual, if you will be coming along, please reply to this thread.

Cheers

James

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it. Gutted.... [:(]

We will be in Dublin that weekend attending a wedding. Taking the car with us, and looking foward to the drive up to Holyhead!

Hello James,

We are up for that, let me know where we will meet for the start.
Drove the Hinehead tunnel two Sundays ago, did it twice from both directions as it were.
In the 996 I dropped it into 3rd approaching the tunnel at about 45 mph and once inside I floored it, the noise was fantastic, I then slowed to 45mph and floored it again, absolutely brilliant, big grin all over my face, you can keep doing this if there is little or no traffic but the best way is to join it from Hindhead going north as the entrance is close to the on ramp and you can slow down to pick your space in the approaching traffic.
Do watch for the average speed cameras though!!!!!!!!!!!

Kind regards
Ian & Karen

Would really love to do this but we'll be taking Mads down to Kent...apparently they have to arrive at university a week early in order to concentrate on freshers' week!!
See you at The Crown if not before.
