Drive-It Day Sunday 25th April
If you were not able to get an entry on the Cotswold Rally on Sunday 25th April, perhaps you may be interested in this offer being made nearer to home.
On Sunday 25th April many Classic Car Clubs and individual Classic Owners across the UK will be showing support for the UK's historic vehicle population by dusting off their classic cars, vans, bikes & trucks and getting them on the road to demonstrate the strength of the movement, showcasing our classic car hobby to other enthusiast owners and to people who don't currently own a classic.
The 'Drive-it Day' commemorates 64 cars that set off from London in April 1900 on the first Thousand Mile Trial and will show the significant number of classics currently registered in the UK with many organised events taking place up and down the country, many museums and other sites of classic vehicle interest are opening or putting on some special events.
Autopia Service Centres is proud to support this annual event by welcoming classic car owners to use us as a stop-off point, we will be offering free BBQ food, hot and cold drinks - for visiting drivers and passengers of classic cars that are participating in the initiative either individually or as part of a club.
Autopia contacted me some time ago about visiting their DIY Car Workshop which offers four workshop bays for vehicle owners to rent by the hour, two have car lifts, and all have tools for rent, so this is an opportunity to go and also meet other classic and sports cars owners
For more information please see www.autopiaservicecentres.co.uk. For full information about what services they offer
I suggest we have a short Sunday morning drive and visit Autopia around lunch time.
Meet at Houghton Arms, (not the usual Boars Head), just off the M65 Junction 3, on the A674, Chorley Road at 10.00am.
Please let me know ( by e-mail to R18@porscheclubgb.com), ASAP if your are planning to attend, so that they can get numbers for catering purposes, as other car clubs will also be attending.
